Alswamitra is a business initiative that aims to seamlessly bridge connections between rural women organisations, producers and conscious consumers. Our comprehensive approach helps communities access their traditional skill base, organise them into production units, develop products that appeal to modern markets, and create consistent demand to create sustainable businesses at the lowest possible costs.
Alswamitra has evolved a hybrid model aimed at economic up-liftment of producer organizations. The business is modelled as a market ecosystem developer and provides active support; from sourcing to sales of their produce.
Our market Intermediary model is envisaged to increase rural income by generating market demand for goods produced by rural women and Self Help Groups (SHGs). The organizations or SHGs receive training, capacity-building support, technical assistance and entrepreneurial skill enhancement. Once formed, each SHG functions as a mini-enterprise – producing and trading goods with Alswamitra Marketplace (example ENORGEN) and other vendors.

Alswamitra believes that when producers have access to an enabling ecosystem and digital markets, they are able to pursue their futures with dignity, and that when women earn, they are empowered at home and in their communities.
How?
Mitra Amplifier is a joint initiative of Alswamitra and leading institutions. The program seeks to educate, incubate and accelerate rural entrepreneurs in their manufacturing endeavours to solve some of their critical problems. Our approach combines design-thinking with market relevance Alswamitra enables the producer organization stand on its feet.
